You will need a drill with a 6mm drill bit and either our car or bike number plate fixing kit or alternatively the sticky pad kit if you don't want to use screws.
Fitting using the car number plate fixing kit:
Before you starting drilling, your first step should be to mark where the holes need to be. This is where your old number plate comes in handy.
Carefully remove your old plate from the vehicle and use it as a template to drill the holes into your new plate. This is easiest done by placing your old plate on top of the new one and lining them up perfectly to mark the holes.
When drilling you'll start at the front to avoid damaging the plate. So place your new number plate flat on your worktop, with the front facing upwards. Now position the old one on top and line them up so that their centres match. Next, using a black marker and using the old screw holes, make a mark or cross on the new plate.
When drilling a hole, you only get one chance to get it right. So we're going to use a common technique of using masking tape to help stop the drill slipping. Apply a small piece of masking tape on top of your drilling marks. Masking tape is thin enough, so you should still be able to see your mark through it.
An important note is when the hole is drilled. Put the drill in reverse to remove the bit and slowly come back. If you pull it out the film could lift.
Make sure the surface where you choose to fit the new plate is clean and completely free of dirt/grease etc before fixing.
Fix your new plate to the vehicle using the screws provided and ensure it is tightly fitted and secure with the caps placed over the screws.
Fitting using bike fixing kit:
Carefully remove your old plate from your motorbike and use it as a template to drill the holes into your new plate. This is easiest done by placing your old plate on top of the new on and lining them up perfectly to drill the holes.
Fix your new plate to the bike using the plastic bolts provided and ensure it is tightly fitter and secure.
